Dewsbury Salaah Times ("the App") is a free Islamic prayer times application available on iOS and Android. This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to function with minimal data collection, and we do not collect any personally identifiable information.

The App stores the following preferences locally on your device to provide its core functionality. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

The App connects to our servers to retrieve prayer timetable data. These requests are made over HTTPS (encrypted) and contain only:
No personal information, device identifiers, or tracking data is included in these requests. Our servers do not log or store information that could identify individual users.
The App requests location permission only for the Qibla compass feature, which calculates the direction of the Qibla from your current position.
Important: Your location data is processed entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. Location access is optional — the App functions fully without it (a default location is used for the Qibla feature if permission is not granted).
If you enable prayer reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are managed entirely by your device's operating system. No notification data is sent to external servers, and no push notification services (such as Firebase Cloud Messaging or Apple Push Notification Service) are used.
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, social media, or tracking services. The only third-party code used consists of standard open-source libraries for networking (Retrofit/OkHttp on Android) and UI rendering, none of which collect user data.
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or equivalent minimum age in relevant jurisdictions). Since the App collects no personal data at all, it is safe for use by people of all ages.
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data. The App includes share functionality that allows you to voluntarily share prayer times via your device's built-in sharing options (e.g. WhatsApp, SMS, email). This sharing is initiated and controlled entirely by you.
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
All network communication uses HTTPS encryption. On Android, cleartext (unencrypted) traffic is explicitly disabled. All data stored on your device is protected by your device's built-in security (screen lock, encryption).
